Meet my lip of the day from Dollar Tree! This is the La Mercery Stunning Satin Lip Tint that promises velvety matte texture. The packaging is actually kind of cute and reminds me a bit of Maybelline's Teddy Tint, though it's a little thinner. It feels velvety going on - not quite a pure liquid stain like Benetint, but definitely has that stain-like quality.

Right after application, the texture feels velvety and smooth on the lips. The color goes on looking like a slightly deepened red, and the product claims it's going to last all day. The instructions say to let it fully dry first if you want to build up the color, but I'm starting to wonder if that's even possible...

Okay, we've hit the 5-minute mark and there's absolutely no sign of dry down. This stuff really is not setting at all! I'm going to give it a few more minutes, but if it's still not drying, we're going to have to take matters into our own hands and blot it off to see what kind of stain we're actually left with.

Alright, that's it - we're blotting! Since this product shows no signs of drying down naturally, I'm giving it a good solid blot with a tissue to remove the excess product and see what kind of stain remains. The transformation is already noticeable as we move from application to the final stain result.
